How nature transforms your home and well-being: The power of Biophilic Design

Have you ever stopped to think about how nature can transform your space and your well-being? At Amariz Interiors, we believe in the incredible power of nature—not just as design inspiration, but as a tool to enhance daily life. That’s why, in projects like RB House, we go beyond aesthetics. Our mission is to create spaces that not only look beautiful but also promote the well-being of those who live in them.

Biophilic design, at the heart of our approach, connects humans with nature. RB House already has access to the outdoors with stunning views, but our challenge was to bring those benefits inside. The concept is simple: “bring the outside in”. By integrating nature into our spaces, we create healthier, more relaxing, and energizing environments.

Natural light: boosting mood and productivity

A key focus in RB House was maximizing natural light by designing around the stunning floor-to-ceiling windows. These expansive windows were carefully incorporated as a central element in the design, left unobstructed to make the most of the view and let in the maximum amount of sunlight. By orienting the layout to embrace these windows, we created a seamless connection between the indoor space and the surrounding natural landscape. Biophilic design elements were thoughtfully added to bring the outdoors in, enhancing well-being and echoing the benefits that studies have shown—daylight can increase cognitive function by 10-25%, improving memory, problem-solving, and focus. Imagine a home where sunlight fills every corner, energizing the atmosphere and boosting productivity by 15%. The result is a bright, vibrant environment that feels both uplifting and grounded in nature.

Biophilic colors that calm and revitalize

We chose a nature-inspired color palette with soft greens, earthy browns, calming grays, and touches of yellow. These colors don’t just beautify the space, they also improve our emotions. Green tones are linked to calm and renewal, while browns bring stability and comfort. Research shows that these natural colors can reduce stress by up to 30%. Each color was chosen not just for its visual appeal but for its ability to soothe and ground those who inhabit the space.

Natural materials for emotional well-being

Incorporating natural materials like wood, stone, and organic textures was another key element. These materials foster a calming atmosphere and promote emotional well-being. The presence of wood not only adds beauty but also encourages relaxation. Studies show that using natural materials in interiors can improve emotional well-being by 13%. These materials create a peaceful, welcoming environment, connecting us to nature and enhancing comfort.

Organic, curved shapes for a natural flow

We embraced organic, curved shapes in the design, moving away from rigid lines. A rug with soft, flowing curves and side tables with irregular shapes helped create a more natural flow. We also added a striking mosaic art wall, which brought visual depth and energy to the room. The final touch? Cloud-shaped pendant lights, adding a whimsical yet elegant element that lightens the space and brings a sense of tranquility.

Improving air quality

Finally, we didn’t just focus on the visual and emotional aspects; we also prioritized air quality. Studies show that certain plants can remove up to 87% of toxins from the air, including harmful substances like formaldehyde and benzene. By incorporating a variety of these air-purifying plants, we enhanced the overall health and comfort of the space, creating an environment that not only looks and feels good but also supports well-being on a deeper level.

At Amariz Interiors, we believe that when nature meets design, the results are transformative. In RB House, we created a space that is not just beautiful but also nurtures the mind, body, and spirit. What are you waiting for to transform your space
