The best from Madrid Design Festival

This year, we had the incredible opportunity to experience Madrid Design Festival 2025 firsthand and what an unforgettable journey it was!

In its 8th edition, #MDF25 once again turned the city into the global capital of design, showcasing its power to spark change and respond to the challenges of our ever-evolving society. With 286,000 visitors, 722 professionals, 338 activities, 115 exhibitions, and 165 institutions and brands, the festival proved that design is not just about aesthetics, it’s a tool for transformation.

At Amariz Interiors, we’re passionate about design with purpose, and this festival was a powerful reminder of the impact our industry can have.

Ready to see what inspired us most?

Here are the 5 most striking trends / designs that caught our eye at this magic event:

1. Fiesta Design:

Fiesta Design reconnected design with the public through a vibrant and immersive program. With over 160 hours of activities, 140+ professionals, and 22,000 visitors, the festival transformed the Institución Libre de Enseñanza into a space for creativity, experimentation, and sensory exploration.

Highlights included multisensory installations focused on innovation and sustainability like “Oro Blanco”, a beautiful tribute to the value of Spanish wool in contemporary design.

2. The line dreams: Light as a Poetic Language

This sensory exhibition brought together 45 renowned designers and brands to explore the emotional and artistic power of light. Featuring around 70 pieces, from interior lighting to sculptural lamps, the show highlighted how light can shape space, mood, and perception.

By blending technical precision with poetic expression, the installations revealed light not just as a functional element, but as a profound language that connects with our emotions, architecture, and the surrounding landscape.

3. Metamorphic by Tom Dixon: Reimagining the Bathroom

In collaboration with Cosentino, Tom Dixon presented Metamorphic, a striking sculptural installation that reimagined bathroom design through a modular and architectural approach.

Unveiled in Madrid as part of its itinerant tour, the piece stood out for its bold geometric forms and contemporary elegance. Through a thoughtful play of light, shadow, and the movement of water, Dixon transformed solid materials into something unexpectedly fluid and lightweight, offering a fresh, artistic perspective on the bathroom as a design space.

3. Connection: The thread through the Mediterranean sensations

We had the chance to visit Connection, an exhibition that beautifully explored the invisible thread between design, art, and Mediterranean culture.

What stood out to us most was the way each space captured the essence of Mediterranean life, its colors, warmth, and craftsmanship. Gandía Blasco Group showcased their three distinct brands, each with a unique voice, alongside stunning tapestries and rugs by French artist Charlotte, which became the heart of the installation.

The entire space felt like a living artwork, inviting you to pause, feel, and connect. A true sensory journey that left us inspired.

5. Noddum & Woodendot: Craftsmanship and sustainable design.

We visited the beautiful joint showroom by Noddum and Woodendot, a space that celebrated the warmth, elegance, and timeless appeal of wood.

Their pieces showcased not only exceptional craftsmanship and sustainable design practices, but also a clear vision of how furniture can bring soul and character to a space. Each detail reflected a deep respect for natural materials, especially wood, which was the true protagonist of the exhibition.

A calm, inspiring space that reminded us how thoughtful design can create environments that feel both personal and enduring.
